THE DETAILS                                                              [you're here already]

Behold... Here are the details of the news from the front page.

(October 13th) So many times in the past few galleries, I've had to say things to the effect of: "it is a time of great change". I wonder when it's going to stop - because this update is no exception! The Year Twelves have all but left the school, only to remain for exams and the ISCF HouseParty; us Year Elevens can begin the twelve-month countdown to the end of school, but here is where the real work begins!

In today's gallery, there's plenty of stuff. I complete the last journey through the Gardens, and we wish bon voyage to two of our most loved student-teachers, Miss Vam and Miss Samill. Then we dive into the Year Eleven Drama Production - at least, the parts of it I was able to catch on my Sony - and the Farewell Ceremony for the most senior grade in the school. As promised, a small glimpse of the Dance (though not that much - you'll see why when you read the description), as well as the Year Twelve Luncheon (and lots of waiters!). On the edge of entering our final year of high school... well, enjoy everyone! And always, always, take care.

(October 11th) As of now, I'm still kind of behind in terms of how many photos I still have left unpublished. I really am a prolific photographer - and it's the best type, given the medium - which I was discussing with a few of the boys earlier this week (given the amount of photos I've taken, I would have spent over $1500 on film alone - not including development costs, which would push the cost over $4900!!). And so in order to get this latest bunch of photos through the door, I've started putting a little more time in, and this is the result! For all of those of you who love looking at flowers (*looks mainly in girls' direction*), you'll love this one. Just take an eyeful of the image above for a sample! ;) Anyway, as the holidays are drawing to an end (it's currently Friday, meaning only Saturday and Sunday left), I hope everyone's had a good rest and are ready to head back to school. I miss everyone! You know, if it weren't for school, I think I'd almost be friendless. That's not to say anything about the international website community I used to run... but that's a story for another day. Take care, everyone!

(October 8th) So far I've had ten days of uninterrupted coolness - sprinkled with a bit of ag, a bit of writing my next talk for ISCF, and a lot of good eating. (As well as fixing a computer here and there for some friends.) As I was writing the descriptions for this latest set of photos, it really hit me that as we enter Year Twelve and leave Year Eleven behind, it's really been a wonderful nine months - new friendships, new events, and the camera too to capture it all! This is the third month I've had the camera and during that time I've taken just over 7200 photos - averaging 80 a day (some days, I take several hundred). Of those 7200, 350 are currently published and 73 are in the pipeline of the next two galleries, meaning I select about one in seventeen for publishing. Well, what do you think? Let me know what y'all think of the site too as new updates and jazz are put up - I appreciate the comments earnestly. :)

As for this update, it's a bit of a winding road. I complete the adventure started in the last gallery with 21 photos from the drama excursion to the Opera House. The majority of the rest are from ISCF's Free Day (20 photos). You'll notice there are only actually 8 images for Free Day, but that's offset by a couple of Multiple Images pictorials - including a nine-photo collage I put together of the break dancing competition! The rest is mostly stuff around my garden - it's Spring now, remember? :D Definitely a big update today - hope you all enjoy it!

(September 29th) The small glimmer of hope I had for a relatively relaxed last few weeks of Year 11 was snuffed out when I found myself in the hot spot concerning the Year 11 Drama Production, Shakespeare In Love. I won't go into all the details, except to say that late in the performance on Friday night, the audience was very alarmed to see that their favourite Wessex, Ashwin Nair, was replaced by some Upstart Inky Pup™ who couldn't act for peanuts (the audience for Saturday was unfortunate enough to never have experienced the wonder of Mr. Nair as everyone's favourite bad guy). So I've been a little busy these past couple of weeks, as well as waiting (as in, being a waiter) for the Year 12 Luncheon and clocking up my 7000th photo on the good ole' Sony. Hope you enjoy these photos - and have a happy holidays, all!

(September 11th) I just couldn't wait. This update gets Eddie's Gallery right where you expect it - delivering super-cool photos to the masses. ;) It's Daffodil/Yellow Day in the flesh - forty images, but a great number of them are Picture-In-Picture or Multiples Images, which puts the tally closer to FIFTY photos! I've also added a way-cool new feature to the Testimonials page - you can send me ICQ messages straight from the web, just fill in the form. And, a few new testimonials themselves from McHardy, Nguyen and Joel.

Incidentally, yes, it is the 11th of September, and this is the date of the anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Centre (though we are several hours ahead of America). I'd just like to say personally that America does deserve our condolences and prayers - I just hope that we can avoid war too. Thanks for your time everyone, and please enjoy this enormous update!

(September 9th) Booyah! Well, it's been floating around - you can hear it in whispers every now and then - and now it's real. Eddie's Gallery is really working now, and it's all top-quality. To open up, I thought of putting up all seventy-seven photos - from the action-packed 22nd and 23rd of August - but I thought... "what would the people want? They want photos now!" And so, hot off the press, is the first thirty-seven shots, taken on the Thursday - the final twenty four hours before Daffodil Day. They say good things come to those who wait - and, well, I know that once you've gotten to the end of this gallery you'll really be itching to get into the next one. But I think that it will all be so much better with this 'lead-up' set of photos.

In any case, there's still plenty of great stuff in this latest release - 8 photos from the church service, another 8 from the preparations of Daffodil/Yellow Day, and lots more besides that you can't miss seeing (for example: "O Rice Divine"). There's also the all new Testimonials page, which is already quite large, but I can't wait for you guys to fill it up some more. Well then, I'm sure that's enough talking from me - please enjoy this update, and if you have any comments on the new visual changes to the website (the big flashy bars on the right, for example), gimme a whistle in school. Thanks, everyone!

(September 4th) *stretches back muscles* Oh, I feel like the Pilgrim whose load has just fallen off his shoulders. Well, the prelims are now over and no major assignments stand in our way until we enter Year 12! The main problem of the prelims for this site, though, is that I now have an enormous backlot of photos still unpublished. I usually like to leave photos for a while before publishing them - that is, letting at least a few days pass before putting photos from a certain time online - that way, people have just forgotten the specifics of what happened, and looking at the photos is a nice jog for the memory rather than a regurgitation of what is still fresh in your minds. But here's the current situation: I've just put up over forty photos in the Gallery. But I still have another seventy-seven from the past week-and-a-half or so. That's a little of a problem! In addition to all that, I've just exhausted my free webspace... I've filled up 20MB of Tripod.com's servers with our photos. So I need to figure out a way to continue operation of the site with these space restrictions. However, I think I have a solution that fits everything. It's all coming together like a brilliant Tolkien novel. It won't be easy, and I'll have to-- hey, wait a second! I'm going to keep you all in suspense. Good things come to those who wait. Besides, I haven't entirely figured out my Plan yet! Well, make sure you keep an eye out... preferably two, even three if you have that many...

PS. Oh, how could I forget? Remember to get stuck right into the Gallery for some great photos of the City2Surf. I wish more of you could have been there. We might not be able to go next year, since it'll land right in the middle of our trials... but hey, you'll want to look at the photos I caught on that Sunday - they're definitely among my best. Enjoy!

(August 16th) Well well! Today I delivered a talk at ISCF at narrowly escaped giving a 10-minute presentation on the Austro-Hungarian Empire in Modern History. This is the last update for at least a fortnight, and it's a real big one. I've added dozens of photos - more than forty in total, counting the Gallery and the Jedi Academy - and I've also changed the Classics, as promised, into THE MAP! It's a guide to the site, a collection of all the links that exist on the site that you need to know. Very helpful.
Now, I'm going to go grab some rest and watch my tape of 24. Have a good night, everyone!

(August 9th) Jedis invading the library! I've put up five of the latest Academy photos on the obviously-named page. I've also got another big photo update planned - close to forty photos will be included - but I've decided to hold off for a little while, at least till the end of next week, to put it up... since most people I've talked to haven't seen the current batch anyway. Be aware that old photos are still available here & here, as well as soon here. The next update will bring anyonegota.tripod.com's total to a nice number, 123 photos. What most people don't know is by the time that many photos are on the website, I will have taken about 3600 photos on the camera since I bought it two months ago. So I select about one in thirty photos at the moment. Not too shabby! Anyway, keep your eyes open for the next update. Take care, all!

(August 7th) I've been wanting to put this into effect for a little while now. It's a nice little design for the front page - more streamlined, and you aren't bombarded with huge news chunks as soon as you open the page. Now you head to the Details page (details.htm - this page) if you want to find out what's going on. I do suggest you come here all the time, though, because all the news I post - whether the front page or here - is completely relevant to all of you (unlike TV or newspapers where you wouldn't read everything because it doesn't relate to you). Anyway, any comments on the design are welcome!

(August 5th) At last, real updates! All the ag stress has disappeared and I've celebrated by putting 32 new photos in the Gallery. Details can be found in the Gallery itself (Follow the magic link!). Also keep an eye out for a little website renovating, format changes, all that jazz. Cheers!

PS. The old pictures are still there, but not for long. You can find them on the page called secondgallery.htm - for obvious reasons! The third (current), fourth and fifth will probably follow the same trend, but I'll have to start removing galleries then (for storage on the CD).

(August 4th) My brain is about to split open with extended answer about sustainability and the major components of plant interference. But in my (many) breaks from study, I've come up with an idea. Since the basic concept of 'The Classics' has basically gone down the drain (no-one uses it), I've concocted another plan. I'll replace the Classics section on the website with Something I Haven't Thought Of Yet™. Photos will not be kept as soon as I reach my 20mb limit here on Tripod, no matter how much anyone kicks and screams.

But, the seven-gold-medal idea is here: when I've accumulated about 700mb of photos (some time far in the future... Ramesh, care to do the math?), I'll re-arrange the entire site as a form of archives and burn the whole shebang onto a CD. Then, all you have to do is ask me, and I'll burn you a copy. Now, I'll be making the service free - just like this site - but I would very much appreciate a token donation - something like $2-3, or whatever you think this site is worth - since CDs cost me a buck a piece and (more importantly), I spend a whole lot of time working this place up for you guys. So, please let me know your thoughts - whether you'd be willing to give a little to get a CD's worth of photos, or if you think the idea is the worst thing since Hayden Christensen's acting. Thanks everyone, and good luck for ag!

(August 3rd) You like lightsabers? Here's a little treat for you. A select group of you have seen most of these already - but most of you are blissfully unaware that in recent free periods, a bunch of us have been making a series of Jedi photos (clickity-click!).
So far there are twelve scenes in the Jedi Academy section, but you can be sure that more will be added as they appear. They are complete with coloured lightsabers, super-funky lighting effects, and other digital trickery. Any suggestions for scenes that you think we could add to the repertoire can be mailed to me.

One other note: out of curiosity, I've added a hit counter to the site. You can see it on the left there (the little white number). It says '48' right now. It records the number of visits I get, as well as other silly stuff like page views, length of visits, all that jazz. If you're curious, click on the little number and see if you can decipher what it all means.
Anyway, your continued visits are much appreciated. Keep visiting even if I don't tell you - if not only as a favour to me, but also to keep up on the latest stuff. Some announcements I won't be able to tell everyone about - this itself is one example - and frequent visits to the site will make sure you stay on top of things. Thanks again, and enjoy your weekend everyone - this is Eddie, signing off quickly, before my head explodes from too much ag stuff.
